What does Psalms 30:2 mean?

The writer of this psalm is expressing gratitude for being restored after a time of real suffering, whether physical illness, emotional devastation, or spiritual crisis. When he cried out in his distress, God responded and brought him back to wholeness. What's beautiful here is the simplicity of it: there's no complicated formula, no earning his way back to health, just desperate honesty ("I cried") meeting divine compassion. If you're walking through something painful right now, this verse suggests that calling out to God in your raw need is exactly what opens the door to healing, whatever that healing looks like for you.
