What does Psalms 27:13 mean?

The psalmist is declaring a deep personal conviction: even in uncertainty or struggle, he trusts that he will actually experience God's kindness and care while still alive on earth. This isn't wishful thinking or denial of hardship, but a statement of faith rooted in what he already knows to be true about God's character. This verse speaks to something many of us need in hard seasons, the belief that goodness isn't just a distant promise for the afterlife, but something real we can encounter now. The word "still" matters, too, suggesting that despite whatever pressure or doubt might be trying to shake him, this confidence remains unchanged. It's an honest acknowledgment that faith sometimes has to be held onto deliberately, and yet it can be held.
