What does Psalms 25:16 mean?
The writer of this psalm is laying bare their loneliness and pain, asking God to notice them in their darkest moment. There's no pretense here, just honest desperation: "I'm broken and alone, and I need you to turn toward me." The word "desolate" captures that soul-deep loneliness that comes when we feel abandoned or cut off, while "afflicted" points to the weight of real suffering pressing down on us.
