Psalms 2:12

Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

What does Psalms 2:12 mean?

The psalmist is calling people to recognize and honor the Son with genuine devotion, warning that rejecting Him leads to destruction. "Taking refuge in him" means finding safety, protection, and belonging in relationship with Him, the way someone might flee to a fortress during danger. The passage holds two truths together: there's real consequence to turning away, but there's also great blessing waiting for those who turn toward Him with sincere hearts. For anyone carrying fear or uncertainty, this verse suggests that refuge isn't found in hiding from God, but in running toward Him.
