Psalms 19:12
βWho can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.β
What does Psalms 19:12 mean?
The psalmist is wrestling with something many of us feel but rarely name: we don't even know all the ways we've gone wrong. Beyond the sins we're aware of and can confess, there are blind spots, careless moments, and harmful patterns we simply can't see in ourselves. He's asking God to reach past what he can identify and forgive the stuff he's genuinely unaware of. It's both humbling and hopeful, because it acknowledges that forgiveness doesn't depend on perfect self-awareness. When you're honest that you can't catch everything you do wrong, you're actually inviting God into the deeper work of transforming you.
