Psalms 147:20
“He has not done this for just any nation. They don’t know his ordinances. Praise Yah!”
What does Psalms 147:20 mean?
God chose Israel as his covenant people and revealed his laws and ways to them in a special way that he hadn't given to other nations around them. This psalm celebrates the privilege and responsibility that came with knowing God's character and his specific instructions for living. The point isn't that God loves other nations less, but that he had a particular purpose in entrusting Israel with his Word so they could share it with the world. The closing "Praise Yah!" invites us to recognize that being given access to God's truth and guidance is itself a gift worthy of gratitude.
