What does Psalms 146:9 mean?
God's special attention goes to those who are most vulnerable and left behind: immigrants and refugees, children without parents, and people grieving the loss of a spouse. These weren't groups with legal protections or family networks to rely on in ancient times, so this verse declares that God himself steps into that role. At the same time, those who harm others and turn away from goodness will find their plans disrupted and their security undone. The psalm reminds us that God isn't neutral about justice, and his heart moves toward the overlooked and suffering while actively opposing cruelty.
