What does Psalms 145:19 mean?

God promises to respond to people who honor him and call out to him in their distress. The psalmist is saying that when we approach God with reverence and genuine need, he doesn't turn away, he listens, and he actually does something about it. This doesn't mean every wish gets granted exactly as we imagine, but rather that God cares about the longings of those who seek him and will meet them with his help.
