Psalms 144:4
“Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away.”
What does Psalms 144:4 mean?
Life moves quickly, and we're all much smaller in the grand scheme of things than we sometimes feel. The psalmist is reminding us that our days are fleeting—here one moment and gone the next, like a shadow sliding across the ground as the sun moves. This isn't meant to discourage you, but to help recalibrate what actually matters: our relationships, our character, and what we're building that lasts beyond ourselves. When life feels overwhelming or when we're caught up in things that don't really serve us, remembering our own brevity can be surprisingly freeing.
