Psalms 144:15
“Happy are the people who are in such a situation. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh.”
What does Psalms 144:15 mean?
There's a beautiful progression in these two lines. The first describes happiness that comes from outward blessing: peace, abundance, children, and security. The psalmist isn't dismissing these good things as unimportant, but then pivots to something deeper and more lasting. The second line suggests that true, unshakeable happiness ultimately rests not on circumstances, but on having a relationship with God. You might experience seasons when external blessings fade or become uncertain, but knowing God as your own God offers a joy that doesn't depend on what changes around you.
