Psalms 143:1
“Hear my prayer, Yahweh. Listen to my petitions. In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve me.”
What does Psalms 143:1 mean?
The psalmist is calling out to God with raw honesty, asking him to actually pay attention to what's being said. This isn't a demand, but a plea grounded in something solid: the belief that God is both faithful (he keeps his promises and his character is dependable) and righteous (he cares about what's right and true). The request for relief isn't casual—it comes from someone in real distress who is betting everything on the fact that God's goodness is real enough to act on.
