What does Psalms 141:10 mean?

The psalmist is asking God to let people who do harm end up trapped by their own schemes, while he himself walks free from their snares. This isn't a vengeful curse so much as a prayer for justice, trusting that God sees the difference between those plotting evil and those trying to live right. There's deep comfort here for anyone who's been targeted or threatened: the prayer assumes that God can untangle us from danger while the schemes of those who mean us harm come back on them. It's a way of saying, "I'm letting go of this fight and putting it in your hands."
