What does Psalms 136:11 mean?

When God led the Israelites out of Egypt during the exodus, he freed them from slavery and oppression, separating them from a people and a way of life that had held them captive. This verse celebrates that deliverance as an expression of God's steadfast love, the kind that doesn't depend on circumstances or deserve, but simply continues. The repeated refrain throughout Psalm 136 (that his loving kindness endures forever) reminds us that God's faithfulness isn't a one-time rescue, but an ongoing commitment that sustains us beyond any single moment of crisis.
