What does Psalms 122:6 mean?

When the psalmist calls us to pray for Jerusalem's peace, he's inviting us into something bigger than ourselves. Whether you understand this as prayer for an actual city or as intercession for God's people and purposes, the invitation is the same: to care about reconciliation and wholeness beyond our own immediate circle. The beautiful promise that follows, that those who love and pray for peace will themselves prosper, doesn't mean you'll get rich, but rather that a life oriented toward seeking peace for others shapes your own soul toward flourishing. There's a deep spiritual truth here that generosity of prayer and concern for others' wellbeing circles back to bless the one who prays.
