Psalms 119:21
βYou have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who wander from your commandments.β
What does Psalms 119:21 mean?
The psalmist observes that pride naturally leads people away from God's guidance, and that this separation from his commands becomes its own kind of curse. When we're full of ourselves, we stop listening, stop learning, and stop receiving the correction that would actually help us grow. This isn't God punishing pride from a distance, but rather describing what happens when anyone turns away from the wisdom and structure God offers: they end up lost, wandering in circles, facing the consequences of their own choices.
