What does Psalms 119:155 mean?

The psalmist observes a hard truth: when people actively turn away from God's ways, they put themselves at a distance from the help and wholeness that only God can bring. This isn't punishment handed down arbitrarily, but rather a natural consequence of their own choices. When we refuse to seek God's guidance and turn instead toward what we think serves us better, we cut ourselves off from the very source of our healing. The verse invites us to consider whether we're moving toward God or away from him, and to recognize that drawing near to his wisdom is itself an act of seeking safety.
