What does Psalms 119:151 mean?

The psalmist is declaring something deeply comforting: God isn't distant or indifferent, but close and present. Because God is near, the psalmist can trust that His commandments aren't arbitrary rules meant to burden us, but truth, guidance rooted in His character and love. This is especially meaningful when life feels overwhelming or when we're unsure which way to turn. The writer is saying that when we feel lost or alone, God's presence is real, and His direction for us is reliable. We can lean on His word not out of obligation, but because it comes from someone who is right here with us, caring about our wellbeing.
