What does Psalms 119:11 mean?

The psalmist is describing something deeply personal: the practice of letting God's words settle into the core of who we are, not just as information we know but as truth we've internalized. When we genuinely absorb Scripture, it becomes a kind of internal compass that guides our choices, especially in moments of temptation or confusion. The idea isn't about perfection or never stumbling, but rather about how familiarity with God's character and values naturally steers us away from things that would damage our relationship with him. It's an honest acknowledgment that we need help to live well, and that help comes from keeping God's guidance close.
