What does Psalms 116:17 mean?
When someone experiences rescue or healing, the natural response isn't to forget and move on, but to turn around and say thank you. The "sacrifice of thanksgiving" refers to a specific offering in ancient Jewish practice, where worshippers would bring an animal to the temple, share a meal with others, and explicitly praise God for what he had done.
