Psalms 115:10
βHouse of Aaron, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.β
What does Psalms 115:10 mean?
The psalmist is calling out to the priests and temple workers, the descendants of Aaron, and inviting them into a deeper trust in God. Even those who serve God professionally and stand closest to the religious life still need this reminder: their security doesn't come from their position or their duties, but from God's faithfulness. He is both the active help they receive when they're struggling and the shield that protects them from harm. It's a beautiful invitation to let go of self-reliance, even the kind that comes from being "in charge" spiritually, and to rest in God's care.
