What does Psalms 114:5 mean?
The psalmist is remembering two of the greatest miracles in Israel's history: when the Red Sea split open during the exodus from Egypt, and when the Jordan River stopped flowing so the people could cross into the promised land. Rather than making a statement, the poet poses these as questions, as if the natural world itself should be amazed and humbled by what God did.
