Psalms 11:7
βFor Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.β
What does Psalms 11:7 mean?
God's righteousness isn't distant or harsh, but deeply connected to his love. When the psalmist says God "loves righteousness," it means he's drawn to what is good and true, and he actively cares about justice and integrity in the world. The promise that "the upright shall see his face" offers something beautifully personal: those who live honestly and seek to do right will experience God's direct presence, not as judges before an angry ruler, but as people coming close to someone who genuinely loves goodness as much as they do. It's an invitation wrapped in assurance, telling us that living with integrity isn't about earning an aloof God's approval, but about aligning ourselves with someone who is already committed to what's good and welcomes us into relationship.
