What does Psalms 106:12 mean?

The Israelites had just witnessed God part the Red Sea and destroy Pharaoh's army, and in this moment of awe and deliverance, they finally trusted what Moses had been telling them all along. Their belief wasn't abstract or hesitant, but overflowed naturally into celebration and worship. It's a beautiful picture of how genuine faith responds to experiencing God's faithfulness, moving from fear and doubt to joy and praise. When we encounter God's work in our own lives, that same movement from belief to thanksgiving often happens without us having to force it.
