Psalms 105:35

What does Psalms 105:35 mean?
This verse describes one of the plagues that struck Egypt, when locusts consumed every growing thing. The Psalmist is recounting how God brought judgment against Pharaoh and his people when they refused to let the Israelites go free. For anyone who has faced a season where everything seems stripped away, this image can feel uncomfortably familiar. But the Psalm's larger point is important: God was working toward liberation, not destruction for its own sake. The devastation wasn't random or meaningless, though it certainly felt overwhelming to those living through it. Sometimes our hardest seasons serve purposes we can only see in hindsight, when God is actively moving us toward freedom.
