Psalms 10:15
“Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.”
What does Psalms 10:15 mean?
This psalm expresses something many of us feel when we're suffering or watching others be hurt: a longing for God to stop the wicked from causing harm. The psalmist uses vivid language about breaking arms (stopping power and strength) and thoroughly seeking out evil until it's completely gone, capturing raw anger at injustice. It's worth knowing that the Psalms give us permission to bring our hardest, most honest feelings to God, including rage and a desire for wrongdoing to end. The prayers aren't always gentle. At the same time, this particular cry reflects a trust that God, not the speaker, will ultimately be the one to act and judge. When we're devastated by cruelty or injustice, we can pour out that devastation honestly before God, knowing He cares about suffering far more deeply than we do.
