What does Psalms 10:1 mean?
The psalmist is crying out in raw honesty, the way someone might when they're facing something terrifying and feel completely alone. This isn't a question that demands an answer so much as a plea born from genuine pain, from the experience of praying and feeling like God has gone silent exactly when help is needed most. Many of us know this feeling: the moment when circumstances are overwhelming and God seems distant or absent. Rather than pretend everything is fine, the psalmist brings this confusion and hurt directly into prayer. That's actually an invitation for all of us to do the same, because the psalms show us that doubt, anger, and feelings of abandonment don't push God away, they're part of honest conversation with Him. The psalm doesn't end here, either, which matters, because the movement from this desperate question toward renewed faith becomes part of the healing itself.
