Psalms 1:2
“but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night.”
What does Psalms 1:2 mean?
The psalmist is describing someone whose life is genuinely centered on God and His ways, not out of obligation but out of love. This person finds joy (delight) in studying and thinking about God's instruction, turning it over in their mind at all hours, like something too good to stop pondering. It's the opposite of grudging obedience, it's more like how you can't stop thinking about someone or something you deeply care about. The point isn't rigid rule-following, but a heart so drawn to God that His wisdom becomes the thing you naturally return to, whether you're awake at dawn or lying in bed at night.
