What does Proverbs 30:21 mean?
Agur is using poetic exaggeration here to say that certain disruptions in the natural order are so fundamentally wrong that creation itself recoils from them. The verses that follow list things like a servant becoming king or a foolish person suddenly getting plenty, situations where the world feels out of balance because the proper order has been inverted. He's not predicting actual earthquakes, but rather expressing how deeply disturbing it is when the wrong people gain power or when dignity and responsibility are placed in unworthy hands. It's a way of saying some injustices feel cosmically offensive because they violate what we instinctively know should be true about how life works.
