What does Proverbs 26:15 mean?
This is a humorous but pointed image of someone so unwilling to exert effort that even eating, which requires minimal work, feels like too much. The sluggard's hand reaches the food easily enough, but the tiny additional movement of bringing it to his mouth seems unbearable, so he just... leaves it there. It's exaggeration meant to show how laziness can become almost absurd, paralyzing us even in meeting our own basic needs.
