Proverbs 21:2
βEvery way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the hearts.β
What does Proverbs 21:2 mean?
We all tend to believe we're doing the right thing, even when we're not. We can justify our choices, rationalize our behavior, and convince ourselves that our motives are pure, but this verse gently reminds us that our own judgment isn't the final word. God sees deeper than our explanations and defenses, looking into the actual intentions and desires that drive us, not just the actions we see. It's both humbling and hopeful: humbling because we can't hide from God, but hopeful because He offers us His wisdom and guidance when we're willing to ask for it rather than relying on our own perspective.
