What does Proverbs 20:3 mean?

Walking away from conflict takes real strength, not weakness. The wisdom here is that a person who can control their impulse to argue and instead choose peace actually demonstrates maturity and self-respect. By contrast, the person who's always ready for a fight, always looking to prove a point or win an argument, is actually revealing their own immaturity. In a world that often celebrates winning and being right, this verse invites us to consider that sometimes the braver choice is stepping back from the next quarrel.
