What does Proverbs 18:19 mean?
When someone we're close to feels hurt or betrayed by us, repairing that relationship becomes incredibly challenging, harder even than breaking through a walled city with military force. The writer is saying that broken trust between family members (or close friends) creates barriers that are stubborn and real, sometimes harder to overcome than physical obstacles. Just as fortress bars keep people out, unresolved conflict and offense create walls between people that seem almost impossible to penetrate. The point is gentle but honest: damaged relationships deserve our serious attention and effort to repair, because they won't heal on their own.
