What does Proverbs 16:25 mean?

We all know that feeling when a choice seems perfectly reasonable at the time, even obvious. But this proverb warns that our own judgment can deceive us, especially when we're making decisions that matter most. What feels like the right path in the moment, when we're trusting only what we can see or what we want to be true, can actually lead us away from life and toward harm. The invitation here is to hold our instincts lightly and seek wisdom beyond ourselves, whether through trusted people, reflection, or faith, rather than assuming we already see clearly.
