What does Proverbs 14:17 mean?

A person who rushes into anger without thinking tends to make foolish decisions they later regret. Meanwhile, someone who manipulates others for personal gain may get what they want in the short term, but people grow to resent and avoid them. The verse invites us to notice that both quick anger and cunning schemes create relational damage, even if they feel like they're serving us. Patience and straightforwardness, by contrast, tend to build trust and genuine connection.
