What does Proverbs 14:11 mean?

The wicked person's carefully built life, no matter how impressive it looks on the surface, ultimately crumbles because it's built on a foundation that can't hold. Meanwhile, the person living with integrity might seem to have less, live more simply, or face harder circumstances, yet finds genuine stability and growth that lasts. This isn't a promise that good people never face hardship, but rather an observation about what actually endures: a life of honesty and kindness bears fruit over time, while one built on dishonesty and harm inevitably collapses under its own weight. The contrast between a grand "house" and a humble "tent" reminds us that outer appearances matter far less than the character underneath.
