What does Proverbs 11:26 mean?

When food is scarce and someone hoards grain to drive prices up for profit, community members understandably resent that person for putting survival out of reach. The proverb contrasts this with someone who allows grain to circulate in the marketplace, making it available even if it means accepting a fair rather than inflated price. There's real wisdom here about how our choices to help or exploit others ripple outward into the community's judgment of us. The point isn't that generosity guarantees wealth, but that people notice and respect those who prioritize others' basic needs, while they remember those who weaponized necessity for personal gain.
