What does Proverbs 10:12 mean?

When we hold onto anger toward someone, we naturally want to bring up their mistakes, call them out, and defend ourselves. But when we genuinely care about a person, we find ourselves willing to let small offenses go unmentioned and to interpret their actions in the kindest possible light. The second part doesn't mean pretending serious wrongs never happened, but rather choosing not to weaponize every failing we've noticed. Love has a way of creating space for people to grow instead of keeping score.
