Proverbs 1:25
βbut you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;β
What does Proverbs 1:25 mean?
When wisdom calls out with guidance and correction, ignoring it leaves us vulnerable to poor choices and their consequences. This verse captures that moment when someone hears good advice but decides they'd rather do things their own way, dismissing both the gentle counsel and the necessary corrections that might have protected them. It's a reminder that wisdom often comes as a package: the encouragement to move forward in a good direction, and also the loving pushback when we're heading the wrong way. Refusing both means we're really saying no to the person trying to help us, not just no to the advice itself.
