What does Philippians 3:7 mean?
Paul is describing a dramatic shift in what he valued most. Before meeting Jesus, he had built his entire identity around religious accomplishments, social status, and keeping Jewish law—things that made him feel successful and respected. But encountering Christ completely rewired his priorities, and suddenly all those achievements felt empty by comparison. He's not saying those things were bad or that he regrets his past. Rather, he's saying that once he understood what it meant to know Jesus deeply, everything else—the credentials, the approval, the sense of control—lost its shine.
