What does Philippians 2:25 mean?
Paul is explaining why he's sending Epaphroditus back to the Philippian church, and in doing so, he's giving us a beautiful picture of how he saw this man's worth. Epaphroditus wasn't just a messenger or errand-runner, but someone Paul honored with multiple meaningful titles: brother, coworker, fellow soldier, apostle, and servant. The phrase "fellow soldier" suggests they were fighting the same spiritual battles together, and "your apostle" likely means Epaphroditus represented the Philippians and carried their love and support to Paul. By calling him "servant of my need," Paul acknowledges that Epaphroditus had sacrificed to help him while he was imprisoned.
