Numbers 7:17

What does Numbers 7:17 mean?
Nahshon, a leader of the tribe of Judah, brought an enormous gift to dedicate the altar when the Israelites finished building the tabernacle. This wasn't a small token offering, but a substantial sacrifice of livestock that would have been costly and meaningful, combining animals for different purposes (peace offerings were shared meals with God and the community, creating connection and gratitude).
