What does Numbers 36:12 mean?

These daughters inherited their father's land in Israel, which was unusual for women in that culture. When they married, they could have lost their family's property to their husbands' tribes, but the law allowed them to marry within their own tribe and keep the inheritance secure. This protected both the women and their father's legacy, showing that God's law sometimes made space for fairness and practical wisdom in circumstances that could otherwise leave people vulnerable.
