Numbers 32:25
“The children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, “Your servants will do as my lord commands.”
What does Numbers 32:25 mean?
These two tribes had just asked Moses for permission to settle east of the Jordan River instead of entering the promised land with everyone else. After Moses expressed his concern that they might discourage the other Israelites, they responded with this commitment, essentially saying, "We hear you, and we'll do whatever you ask of us." It's a moment of submission and willingness to listen when someone in authority gently pushes back on their plans. Their words show that being heard doesn't mean we get exactly what we want, but it can lead us to reconsider and recommit to doing what's actually right.
