What does Numbers 3:30 mean?

Among the Levites who cared for the tabernacle's sacred objects, the Kohathites had a special role handling the most holy items like the ark and the altar. This verse simply names Elizaphan as the head of one of the family groups within that division, making him responsible for organizing and overseeing his relatives' work. While the name might feel distant to us now, this kind of appointment mattered deeply in a community where everyone's role in worship was interconnected. Sometimes God works through ordinary leadership and clear assignments, reminding us that faithful service often happens in small, designated roles rather than grand gestures.
