What does Numbers 20:22 mean?

The Israelites had been wandering in the wilderness for decades by this point, and Mount Hor marked a significant turning point in their journey. This simple verse about traveling to a mountain might seem unremarkable, but it signals a moment of transition, where the community moved closer to the promised land while also facing a difficult transition in their leadership. Sometimes in our own lives, a change of location or circumstance signals that God is moving us forward, even when we can't yet see the full picture of where we're heading.
