What does Numbers 16:42 mean?

The people of Israel, fed up with Moses and Aaron's leadership, gathered together in open rebellion. But in that moment of confrontation, something shifted their attention entirely: the cloud that signaled God's presence descended on the sacred tent, and the glory of the Lord became visible to everyone. It's a powerful reminder that human conflict, no matter how justified it might feel in the moment, can instantly recenter us on something far greater than our grievances. The visible presence of God broke through the anger and forced the community to reckon with a reality much larger than their dispute.
