What does Numbers 16:29 mean?
Moses speaks these words during a rebellion against his leadership, when certain Israelites (led by Korah) are challenging whether God actually sent him. He's essentially saying: if these rebels face ordinary, natural death like everyone else, then you'll know I'm not God's messenger. But if something extraordinary happens, something that breaks the normal pattern of how death works, then you'll have proof that God stands behind me. This is Moses putting his credibility on the line in the most dramatic way possible. He's confident enough in his calling that he's willing to stake everything on God's intervention. What follows in the story is genuinely unusual, which is why Moses includes this moment, but the core point here is about trusting God enough to speak with that kind of boldness, even when you're being publicly questioned and doubted.
