What does Numbers 15:8 mean?
When ancient Israelites brought their most valuable animals, like a bull, to the temple as an offering, they were expressing something important about their relationship with God. A bull represented significant sacrifice because it was expensive and useful, so offering one showed genuine devotion, whether someone was fulfilling a promise they'd made, seeking peace with God, or marking a special occasion. The passage is describing the detailed instructions for temple worship, which might seem distant to us today, but the heart of it speaks to something universal: meaningful commitment often costs us something.
