What does Numbers 15:28 mean?
When someone made an unintentional mistake in following God's laws, there was a way to be restored: bring an offering, and the priest would perform the ritual that bridged the gap between that person and God. The key word here is "unwittingly"—this describes genuine mistakes, not deliberate rebellion or carelessness born from apathy. The passage reflects something deeply human: we all mess up without meaning to, and God's design included a path back to wholeness.
