Numbers 13:31

But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”

What does Numbers 13:31 mean?

After Moses sent twelve spies into Canaan, ten of them came back terrified, convinced the land's inhabitants were unconquerable giants. Their fear was contagious, spreading doubt through the entire camp and causing people to question whether God could actually deliver on his promise. What makes this moment tragic is that the spies had seen the same land, the same people, and the same evidence as their two companions who believed God could overcome any obstacle. Fear has a way of making us focus so intently on what we're up against that we forget who's supposed to be fighting alongside us.
